Porcupine

The nights here on the Nyika plateau are still quite cold. I had not imagined in Africa. This morning we were glad that had "fed" a park employee camp fire with wood, and the water in the shower boiler is apparently too hot. So only a cup of steaming coffee and then a warm shower. Fantastic for a little too cold night in the small tent. After that pack everything, and then it goes on.
User path leads from Nyika to along the southern boundary zambisch malawianischen. The landscape is fascinating. No people, no cars no houses. The dirt road winds between the mountains flattened. Mostly it is good to drive, but there are also places because of the way has changed into a swamp. Water has collected here during the rainy season, making every drive on impossible. Also, our SUVs here would sink up to their axles in mud. Therefore, we take a little start, and leave the underlying pavement. We drive along beside the road, and when the road is dry again, and the roadside is low it back again. Suddenly our guids sees something and we stop. There lie the remains of a porcupine. Apparently took place here in the night a fight. Apparently there are still larger predators. I say these tracks in the dust, not so much. Of the tracks on the floor is raised my eyes along the road, and I'm really surprised by this sight. Now I'm really in Africa.
